Newton-Johnson Southend Chardonnay comes from Hemel-en-Aarde on the South African Southern coast. The climate is cool from the breezes off the Southern Ocean allowing slow ripening.
Aged in oak for 9 months, it has a citrus and stone fruit aroma, with faint hints of nuts and toast.
Fullish on the palate, with good weight of fruit and creamy texture it is excellent value and works very nicely with poached salmon.
