Paddy Borthwick from Wairarapa at the bottom of New Zealand’s North island began planting vines in 1996. A firm believer in sustainable agriculture and with a relatively hands-off approach in both vineyard and winery he crafts lively, tense and incredibly precise wines.
The fruit for this wine comes from Hawkes Bay. Aromas of gooseberry, lychee, grapefruit and guava and the palate is balanced by fine acidity and fruit sweetness. Delightfully fresh, it works well as an aperitif or with shellfish.
