Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Bowland Forest Vintners?
Our shop is inside the reception of The Inn at Whitewell, Dunsop Road, Whitewell, near Clitheroe, Lancashire, BB7 3AT. We’re a fully independent wine merchant, not linked to any large wholesaler or producer.
What are your opening hours?
The shop is open every day, 9am to 9pm. Our office (for phone and email enquiries) is staffed Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.
Do you deliver, and how much does it cost?
Yes, UK-wide. Standard delivery is £10 to a single address, and free on orders over £250 (net of case discount). The Scottish Highlands and Islands, the Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Isles of Scilly, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and Eire carry a surcharge, so please call us for a quote. We’re unable to ship wine internationally.
Can I collect my order in person?
Yes. You can collect from the shop at The Inn at Whitewell, provided your order has been paid for at the time of collection.
How do I place an order?
You can browse the full range and add wines to your basket directly on this site. As we don’t yet take payment online, we’ll follow up by phone once we receive your order to arrange payment and delivery. You’re also welcome to order directly by calling 01200 448688 or emailing sales@bowlandforestvintners.co.uk.
Do you run wine tastings or events?
Yes. We host private wine tastings in one of the dining rooms at The Inn at Whitewell, for wine clubs, birthday parties, corporate team building and other occasions. Sessions are relaxed and informal, for groups of 6 to 20 people, from £30 per head (a minimum charge of £180 applies for fewer than 6). Call 01200 448688 or email sales@bowlandforestvintners.co.uk to book.
What makes your wine range different?
We’re not tied to any large wholesaler or producer, so we’re free to buy from any winemaker in the world. We’re biased towards smaller producers whose wines are quality driven and often from single vineyards, rather than big-name, mass-market labels.
Do I need to be 18 or over to buy wine from you?
Yes. By placing an order with us, either online or in person, you’re confirming you’re over 18.
Who can I talk to about choosing a wine?
Our in-house wine specialist Jonty, and Ruth, are both happy to offer advice by phone or email, or in person at the shop.
