Coming from high up on the sides of Mt Etna (6oom) where the climate is quite cool, allowing slow ripening of the two Nerellos. It’s delightfully intense with a generous nose of black cherry, raspberry compote with a hint of vanilla. White pepper and spice are also in the background. The less tannic Nerello Cappuccio balances the higher tannins of the Mascalese and together produce a wine of both elegance and character, with a persistant finish.
