“Though a Bordeaux blend, this wine is built to express the local Chianti terroir.” – Michael Schmelzer, Winemaker.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Merlot (40%), Cabernet Franc (15%), and Colorino (5%) very much in the style of a ‘Super Tuscan’. Fermentation and maceration on the skins in stainless steel tanks, followed by 18 months aging in barriques and tonneaux. Fresh and alluring, it has a stunning nose of cassis & damson together with hints of black pepper whilst the palate is smooth and powerful.
