Critic tasting note: Medium to full red-purple, still bright after 5 years, vibrant cherry and plum fruit aromas more than handle the oak on the bouquet; the palate is sumptuous, but not heavy, the cherry and plum flavours tracking the bouquet. The wine has a very long finish, with fine, integrated tannins. Destined to become one of the great Granges.*5 Stars*(07/11)

Winemaker comments by John Duval- Penfolds Winemaker    COLOUR: Vibrant plum red.     NOSE: A fusion of blackcurrants, blueberry and boysenberry fruits lavished with cinnamon and sweet spices. Closer inspection suggests earthy, savoury aromas laced with roasted chestnut and fresh barrel fermentation richness.    PALATE: Concentration, power, flavour and balance – Grange ! Masses of berried fruits, yet as with many of the classic releases, a blueberry fruit core. One of the classic vintages of the 1990s that sits alongside 1990, 1991 & 1998.
