deep plum in colour, firm to the rim, the 2000Smith Woodhouse has a very attractive, fragrant, leafy quality on the nose, rich in red and black fruits whilst the palate prickles with pepper and spice and charming youthful fruit. Dsspite the very obvious perfumed quality, there is a darker layer, hints of bitter chocolate and layers of ripe but powerful tannins. A long layered finish.
