Vietti is one of the most beautiful and famous estates in Barolo, dating back to the late 1800’s and is still family owned.
This superb wine is from the extremely good 2010 vintage in Piedmont. It was aged for 32 months in barriques and large oak barrels then bottled without filtration and all the rough edges and harsh tannins of youth have now settled. However, the classic Barolo characteristics remain very prominent, with aromas of rose petals and orange peel together with hints of leather and tar. Consistently scoring high 90’s with the critics this is a superb Barolo.
